Will it be the Clippers, not Lakers, parading?

November 25th, 2009, 10:17 am · 11 Comments · posted by JANIS CARR, OCREGISTER.COM

I know it’s the Clippers, but they do share the same town as the Lakers, the same building and as it turns out, the owners share the same dreams. Only in the case of Clippers owner Donald Sterling, he might be a bit delusional.don

Sterling said he wants to win and will pay any amount of money (i.e. free agents) to get those elusive victories. The Clippers have had only two winning seasons in their 25 years in Los Angeles, but Sterling said he hopes that can change.

“I can visualize a Clippers parade,” he says. “I’m telling you, I will win. I promise you that. I will find the combination.

“How long am I going to live? Forever? I will do whatever it takes. I think the Clippers can pay more than any team in America. We have unlimited resources. I’d be thrilled to pay ($121 million as the Lakers will do this season) and do it tomorrow, if I could only sign quality players who warranted it.”

Or want it. Perhaps being part of the Clippers end of the hallway at Staples is as frightening as being a New York Knicks player, which Ron Artest suggest. He said players are afraid to play in New York.57137107

Whatever the reason, there’s no need to jump on the Clippers’ bandwagon, which continues to travel on the same road to nowhere.

wow…what a dream…it’s like beyonce’s beautiful nightmare…maybe he can win…but first he needs to move his team out of staples and out of los angeles…his team will be forever second banana to the lakers who obviously own the town…he needs to get a better coach than dunleavy…even if he is able to sign a couple of big name players, his team is still not going anywhere with dunleavy…but it’s ok…dream on i would say…there’s nothing wrong with that…

Donald Sterling is the NBA’s version of Al Davis.

  • Matt says:

At least Davis won a Super Bowl or three.

Sterling is the worst sports owner in America.

  • Dallas Raines Hair says:

why is he saying this? NOW he wants to win??? Elgin Baylor was the GM for how long? how many high first round picks did they have? He says he’s willing to spend money to be a contender, well first thing to do would be to eat Dunleavy’s contract and bring in a real GM and a real coach and have them set up a system and bring in players who fit the system. You have to build these things over a couple of years… Gee… where could they find an example of this… hmmm… maybe Mitch and Phil could put on a seminar for him?
