Hey, Lakers: It’s NOV, but it’s also NOW

Kobe Bryant cited the Lakers’ poor transition defense in both losses to Denver and Houston. Part of transition defense is taking good shots on offense so the defensive structure is set up for transition. Part of it is simply hustle.

Both parts — jacking up 3-pointers instead of operating the offense to get inside and hustling — are reflective of a team playing without great focus. And playing without great focus is reflective of something less than impressive, even though the calendar says it’s only November.
