Outlook
The Lakers eliminated Denver in the Western Conference finals, 4-2, and Lamar Odom scuffled briefly with Kenyon Martin and Chris Andersen in an Oct. 23 exhibition game in San Diego. Said Odom: “We have some history. I’m pretty sure they’ll be focused.” The Nuggets lost in Milwaukee, 108-102, on Wednesday night despite Carmelo Anthony’s 32 points and 10 rebounds. Anthony has scored at least 30 in six of nine games and will be a good test for Ron Artest’s defense. Former UCLA guard Aaron Afflalo is starting at shooting guard for Denver, but J.R. Smith is back from his seven-game NBA suspension to start the season.
