Joey and Jesse Buss? Who are these guys and what did someone do with the other Buss family members?
Let’s get this straight. The Lakers win their 15th franchise title, their first in seven years, and no one higher than some unknown brothers of the Buss family could board a plane and fly to Orlando for the trophy presentation?
And if this was planned, couldn’t Joey Buss perhaps have written down a few thoughts instead of winging it? Maybe show some enthusiasm?
“This one means a lot. The fans stuck with us through thick and thin,” Joey Buss said. “This is the 15th one that we have as a family. We have two more to go to meet Boston Celtics, and I just want to reiterate that none of this would be possible without the Los Angeles Laker fans here tonight and back in Los Angeles.”
Guess he was talking about the fans setting fires and stopping traffic on the 110 Freeway.

I think the Buss family needs to think twice before they let him speak on behalf of the team like that again. I was thinking to myself “HUH??” Dude had no stage presence!! LOL!!
Yeah it was awkward. People were thinking who’s THIS kid? At least have Jeanie there accepting the trophy! Phil would be happy, that’s for sure.
I think Mitch Kupchak would have been a much better choice than any Buss family member.
That was botched..no other way to say it. He froze like a deer in the spotlights. Mitch deserved to give that speech but even Jeanne would have been a better choice. At least she would have been prepared.
