The Lakers flat-out messed the Celtics up

January 5th, 2009, 1:55 pm · 3 Comments · posted by KEVIN DING, OCREGISTER.COM

EL SEGUNDO — So let’s just recap:

The Lakers beat the Celtics on Christmas. Then the Celtics lost to the Warriors … and the Lakers beat the Warriors. The Celtics lost to the Trail Blazers (without Brandon Roy) … and the Lakers just beat the Trail Blazers (without Roy). The Celtics then lost to the Knicks, whom the Lakers beat the week before Christmas even though Pau Gasol didn’t play.

The net result: The Lakers definitely did more than give Boston one loss on Christmas Day. The Lakers flat-out messed the Celtics up.

Recent headlines …

  • Lakers’ road could get bumpy
  • Ariza perfers to wait his turn to play

Oh…the words of the wise! Couldn’t have said it any other way! GO LAKERS!! This is OUR year!

    • You’re absolutely right. The Lakers will now beat Celtics in a 7-game playoff series.

I recently wrote a blog about the Lakers being the best team in the NBA now

That’s crazy talk. Yes, Boston had a let down but don’t think for a minute that Boston isn’t a formidable opponent for any NBA team including the Lakers. The Lakers won a game that was close until the last five or six minutes. They deserved to win but they by no means crushed the Celtics. If you think the Celtics fear the Lakers your dead wrong. I think the Lakers are good enough to take Boston to a seven game series and possibly win if they have home court. But I don’t believe for a minute that the Lakers will walk over Boston or Clevland if they meet in the final. Bynum and Gasol need to get stronger if the Lakers expect to win the championship this year.
