EL SEGUNDO — I know many Lakers fans are worried their new investment might have to wear that fateful tag of “injury-prone,” but Andrew Bynum’s strained right shoulder is really nothing to fret.
To prove it, I’m going to delay even reporting the “news” here until I tell you how funny — funny in a typical young Andrew way — it was to see him leaving practice with a coach’s clipboard (you know, the kind with the basketball court inset on it for drawing plays) and his little voter-information reference pamphlet attached to it.
He’s one geeky basketball behemoth.
Anyway, he also left the training facility after practice today with the shoulder packed in ice, but that was only to ensure no swelling. It only hurts him a bit at the very farthest reaches of extension.
He’ll play Wednesday night against the Clippers.
“No question about it,” he said.
