EL SEGUNDO - Lakers spokesman John Black announced Tuesday afternoon that guard Sasha Vujacic has an avulsion fracture of the left ankle and will cease most basketball-related activities for the next 10-14 days.
Vujacic saw a foot specialist Monday afternoon, who confirmed the findings of a specialist that Vujacic was examined by last week.
“No words can explain this,” Vujacic said, when asked his reaction.
The injury is said to be a pre-existing problem and not related to the sprained left ankle that has sidelined Vujacic for the majority of training camp. However, the sprain that Vujacic suffered exacerbated the avulsion fracture.
“I just have to rest but I don’t have time to rest,” said Vujacic, who vowed to return within a week. “I want to do everything possible to get back. I want to (play) one or two pre-season games.”
Vujacic said he hopes to keep up with his conditioning. He will limit his court activity to stationary shooting.
“I heal fast,” he said.

If anything this is great news for the Lakers because Sasha cant guard worth a lick and his offense is really limited.. Hopefully for Laker fans he is out for the year.

This is bad news, for lakers, but mainly for sasha Machine vujacic. During the offseason he was one of the most hyped lakers for the upcoming season. He talked about how he wanted to become the best shooter on the lakers and one of the best in the NBA which he proved he had potential for last season… after this injury its gonna be alot more tough, but dont be too worried, his playing style makes it easier for him to get back in the game, so im sure he’ll do decent off the bench, probably just like he was last year.
