Kobe needs to make good on pinkie promise

August 25th, 2008, 10:00 am · 2 Comments · posted by JANIS CARR, OCREGISTER.COM

Kobe’s pinkieThe Olympics are over and it’s time to start focusing on the upcoming season. And that goes for Kobe Bryant and his pinkie.

Bryant put off surgery on his injured right pinkie until after the Olympics, promising that he would be ready to go by training camp.

Well, camp opens late September and Bryant is going to need time – 3-4 weeks – to recover. That means the reigning MVP needs to put aside his newly minted gold medal and head to the doctor’s office pronto.

Bryant could decide, though, to delay the surgery some and miss a portion or all of training camp. It wouldn’t be unheard of; others have done that (check Shaq in 2001).

    Janis,

With all due respect, this post is ridiculous. Kobe and Phil have already SPECIFICALLY discussed Kobe sitting out training camp to rest his body. It is known to everyone in Lakerdom expect apparently YOU.

Kobe is going to be ready for game one, in shape and ready go, AS HE ALWAYS IS.

For you to compare Kobe sitting out training camp due to putting off surgery with the shizzle the fat and lazy Shaq used to pull is at best disingenuous and at worst flat out dishonest.

Please take more pride in your journalism.

    Cheers.

Wow…these poor bloggers on here have been catching it from the readers lately!! Well training camp opens in a few weeks, so hopefully there will be more factual information to report instead of this speculative stuff…
