Actually, there are a number in the Lakers’ organization. Besides the team’s medical staff, there is the team owner, Jerry Buss, who has a Ph.D in physical chemistry from USC.
Now, another doctor has joined the fold, although in essence, he was there before.
Lakers coach Phil Jackson will receive an honorary doctorate Monday from the University of North Dakota during convocation ceremonies. Jackson graduated from UND in 1967 with a degree that had emphasis in religion, philosophy and psychology. He was a two-time All-American basketball player.
Now, when people refer to Dr. Phil, the question will arise - which one?
