Kobe’s best game

August 20th, 2008, 8:07 am · Post a Comment · posted by KEITH SHARON, OCREGISTER.COM

Kobe BryantMaybe Kobe had trouble adjusting to the time change in China. It took him a half-dozen games to hear the alarm clock.

For those of you who didn’t get up at 5 a.m. to watch USA toy with, then destroy Australia, here’s what you missed: Rebound, outlet, dunk … Steal, transition, missed three, rebound, dunk. Kobe was spinning and skying en route to 25 points.

And, for good measure, Kobe’s sore pinkie didn’t stop him from hitting 4-of-7 threes.

USA now plays the winner of the Greece/Argentina game in the semifinals. Looming as a potential gold medal foe is Spain.

Kobe’s Laker teammate Pau Gasol had 20 and 10 in Spain’s victory Wednesday.
