Kwame Brown

So Hoopsworld.com thinks the most likely replacement for Ronny Turiaf is — get ready — Kwame Brown.

The same Kwame Brown the Lakers send packing to Memphis in the Pau Gasol trade. The same one who has averaged 7.5 points and 5.7 rebouds in his career.

The same player who saw his playing time in a Lakers uniform dwindle to 22 minutes a game before being shipped out. Brown never really fit into the Lakers’ triangle offense. And now someone thinks bringing him back is a good idea?

Brown, an unrestricted free agent, worked out for the Atlanta Hawks this week and Coach Mike Woodson reportedly was encouraged by what he saw. Perfect. Let him go east.

The Lakers have reportedly spoken to representatives for Kurt Thomas, Jorge Garbajosa and Francisco Elson as possible replacements for Turiaf, who is expected to sign with Golden State. Plus, the still have Chris Mihm in the wings, who is expected to be 100 percent healthy by training camp.
