So Lakers guard Coby Karl didn’t do anything as spectacular as O.J. Mayo’s 69-foot shot, he simply turned in another impressive performance in his third NBA Summer League game Tuesday night.
Karl, who is looking to lock up a roster spot on next season’s team, showed once again that he can shoot the three, hustles for loose balls and isn’t afraid to play defense. He scored 18 points, but it wasn’t enough to beat Philadelphia at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas.
The Sixers’ frontline combined for 48 points in an 81-73 victory.
Joe Crawford, the Lakers’ lone draft pick this season, also had a solid outing with 16 points.
The Lakers play the Minnesota Timberwolves at Thomas & Mack Center today.
