LOS ANGELES - After a disappointing Game 3 by Lamar Odom, it wasn’t a surprise that Coach Phil Jackson was asked about getting the forward going for Game 4.
“One of the things they’ve been doing is neutralizing him on the defensive boards,” Jackson said. “He’s guarding (Kendrick) Perkins, and Perkins is just plowing him under the basket.”
Jackson said Odom, who had four points in Game 3, has to spring their transition game by grabbing rebounds.
“That’s been a little bit tough for him. He can’t get as many rebounds and secure the boards as quickly and move the ball up as he has in the past series.”
RONDO READY
Point guard Rajon Rondo was pronounced ready by coach Doc Rivers.
“He’s all set to go,” Rivers said.
Rondo suffered a sprained ankle in Game 3 and sat out most of the fourth quarter.
Asked to elaborate, Rivers said he wasn’t concerned about his speed but if Rondo looks hindered, they will make a change.
Rondo has been updating his status on his blog, and Rivers isn’t exactly keen on the concept.
“I love blogs,” Rivers said. “I have one. No one knows about it.”
