Wondering whether Phil Jackson will be able to keep his mind on Game 1 of the Western Conference finals with American Idol finale taping across the street at the Nokia Theater?
Jackson said he’s not exactly a “fan” of the glorified karaoke show but he does watch it weekly.
“I am kind of a naysayer, but I enjoy watching it with Jeanie (Buss, his girlfriend),” Jackson said. “She edits it for me so I can critique it.”

Wondering if the horde of people lining 11th Street knew there was a basketball game being played at Staples Center. They all couldn’t have been waiting for Ryan Seacrest, could they? Seriously?
Hmm-m-m…
Who does Jackson think will win tonight’s American Idol?
“I think David will win without a doubt?” he said wryly.
Of course, both contestants are named David. The people waiting with their cameras can tell you that. Spurs coach Gregg Popovich probably couldn’t.
“I wish I would have known (it was there), I would have stopped on the way and checked it out,” Popovich said. “Is that where they dance with each other?”

A sign posted on the side of the Nokia Theater told “Seat fillers check in here.” Don’t think the Lakers need any seat-fillers.
