Lakers hang on to lead, 89-79

April 23rd, 2008, 9:46 pm · Post a Comment · posted by JANIS CARR, OCREGISTER.COM

The Lakers let a 10-point halftime lead slip away, but managed to regain the momentum to lead, 89-79, after three quarters.
Nuggets, who trailed, 59-49 at intermission, scored 11 consecutive points to take a 68-67 lead with 5:18 left in the third quarter.

The game went back and forth until the Lakers took advantage of a handful of Nuggets turnovers to fuel a 10-2 run and jump out to an 81-73 lead. Luke Walton capped the run with a 3-pointer with 2:39 left in the quarter. He scored 10 points in the quarter.

BTW

Linas Kleiza, who took a hard fall after being fouled in the first half, was on the bench for the final three minutes of the third quarter with his right arm wrapped with an ice bag.
