EL SEGUNDO - Slowly, but surely…

The Lakers expect one of their big men to return Wednesday night, and the other is coming along.

Pau Gasol said he felt good after practice and should be on the court against Portland in his first game since he sprained his ankle March 14.

“If nothing crazy happens overnight, and the ankle responds to the work today, I think it’s a pretty good guess tomorrow I’ll be out there,” Gasol said.

On another injury front, Andrew Bynum ran on the court for the first time since he suffered a left knee injury. A spokesman said he did sprints from baseline to baseline.

Bynum, out since January with a bone bruise and briefly dislocated left kneecap, is projected to return before the end of the regular season.
