Pau Gasol coming soon; Chris Mihm might follow

LOS ANGELES — Phil Jackson said Pau Gasol is “within a week of coming back, for sure.” We estimated Sunday against Washington as the most likely come-back game for Gasol, but he could beat it if he can practice Tuesday (“Maybe,” Jackson said) or Thursday (“Hopefully,” Jackson said). Any time a guy can beat the timetable, it’s something to note about his mettle.

Chris Mihm is also looking at joining practice on a limited basis Thursday, which would be a landmark day for him after his third surgery on his reconstructed right foot. Mihm no longer is having pain or swelling in his heel after having a screw from a previous surgery removed.

“Hopefully this is the last hurdle to overcome,” Mihm said.

Mihm said he will ease back into the practice routine gradually and acknowledged he needs to “get some explosion back in the legs.”
