Andrew Bynum: out till playoffs?

March 18th, 2008, 5:21 pm · Post a Comment · posted by KEVIN DING, OCREGISTER.COM

DALLAS — Although Andrew Bynum hasn’t had any recent setbacks in his left-knee recovery, Phil Jackson suggested just now that the goal date for Bynum’s return to game action isn’t until the postseason.

Here’s what Jackson said about his anticipation for Bynum’s return from his left-knee injury: “His injury is all about the amount of swelling that is going to happen because of the exercise, because of the pounding he’s going to take on the court, and how long it’s going to take for that to subside. Will he be able to get the swelling out in 24 hours and continue to play? Is it going to be a continual battle with that?

“So that’s what we’ll have to wait for. I anticipate that’s still a couple of weeks away, maybe three weeks away, before he’s actually on the court, doing some things. So we’re still hopeful that he’s going to be in the first round of the playoffs.”
