Andrew Bynum treadmill update

March 11th, 2008, 7:01 pm · Post a Comment · posted by KEVIN DING, OCREGISTER.COM

LOS ANGELES — Andrew Bynum progressed from working in the swimming pool to running on a treadmill Tuesday. He went 20 minutes at 60-65 percent of his body weight to ease stress on his left knee.

Pau Gasol can reportedly go more than 20 minutes at 100 percent of his body weight, so this is nothing to herald. But it’s some progress for Bynum, who probably won’t be back for game action until late in the regular season.

Phil Jackson emphasized the Lakers’ commitment to Bynum’s long-term career in saying about his comeback: “It’s not as fast as he’d like, but we’re looking at the big picture here.”
