LOS ANGELES – After the 34 oh-so-pretty assists were in the books and the Utah Jazz were done, the Lakers had their second consecutive victory over a team that was supposed to be a lot better than they could possibly be. The Lakers have gone 10-2 since starting the season 9-8.
Things just keep getting better and better for the Lakers, which is what Kobe Bryant (31 points, seven assists) wants more than anything to continue being the case. All five starters scored at least 10 points, with Jordan Farmar (14 points) coming off the bench to help in what was never a competitive game.
The Lakers had 30 assists on 38 field goals through three quarters … at which time they led, 106-74. Bryant didn’t play the fourth quarter.
SEEING RED
With the victory Phil Jackson tied Red Auerbach (938) for seventh most on the NBA’s all-time coaching chart – with Boston the next opponent.
ANOTHER ANKLE
Sasha Vujacic sprained his left ankle but was able to continue playing on it for some time in the fourth quarter.
QUOTABLE
Kwame Brown (knee) made his return after five weeks off, but he said: “Side to side is still an issue.”

OMG… Is that the Laker team? Kobe is proving himself how unselfish he could be. I wonder if this the true worth of this laker team or maybe it is to early to see the real LA Lakers 07-08. I am happy to see this team enjoying each other.
What if we had traded Bynum for Kidd, or even Garnett and saw him playing like this…….he looks like a young Shaq…I have always thought Bynum had the potential to be dangerous, and now he is started to show it…when he can start creating his own shot he will be amazing!
