LOS ANGELES — Phil Jackson said he’d think about his possible contract extension on the plane ride home, and it was an extra long trip for the Lakers because of a fuel spill in St. Louis, where their charter jet stopped to refuel. So now where does Jackson stand on re-signing?
“I have thought about it, but I’m not willing to state my position on it yet, though,” Jackson said. “I think that I should probably stop and talk to Dr. (Jerry) Buss first.”
Sounds to me as if Jackson has firmed up his willingness to stay on for a couple more years, but we’ll see.
